Engineering

Our technicians starting from the architects’ drawings and following the client’s requests, have carried out the site surveys and worked on executive planning to create detailed shop drawings for each individual piece of furniture. Each element was broken down in all its parts to selectioning the right finishes and production methods.

Complete fit out and installation

For this project, the client had set an opening date to be respected. We looked for purchase products that could respect the deadlines and carefully followed and coordinated the production of all custom furniture. Two shipments were organized, as requested by the customer, to complete the installation in two weeks. This involved an accurate management of all the material to have it in the house before delivery.

CONCEPT

The concept for the Geneva private house it’s clear, it must reflect the light of its inhabitants. This is tangible not only in finishes and colors choice but also in the shapes and lines of all the elements we made. We took care of the realization of custom furniture and doors. In doing so, we adapted the furniture design to the characteristics of the different family members. For the daughter’s room, pink shades were chosen to make all the elements, including those of the attached bathroom, while for the son’s room and the master were used walnut essences, with more sober and elegant tones and added details such as leather handles. The living room and kitchen space embraces a classic style; the reed wood, marble, brass finishes were utilized but there are also modern touches such as “terracotta” sofas with sinuous lines that create contrast. Collaborating closely with the construction supervision and the client, welcoming their proposals and ideas, were the keys to the project success.

Project challenge

Private project

Managing and accommodating customer requests was not easy. Meticulousness, precision, attention to detail are central elements in each project; in that of a private apartment even more. The possibility of error must be minimized. Each drawing, each choice was submitted to the customer’s approval. To create the custom furniture we started sometimes from the inspiration images sought by the customer.

Purchasing

For  Crans Montana Chalet we have combined high standards of craftsmanship and iconic design pieces. Meeting the client’s requirements within the budget and schedule was not a problem, because of the well-established network of craftsmen, the successful search for a new craftsman for the treatment of the wood coverings and the relationship established over the years with the most prestigious design brands.

CONCEPT

The two flats, of about 130 and 40 square metres respectively, are designed to meet different needs but always retain the same style and harmony between the spaces that characterize them. The renovation involves all the rooms and interior finishes, focusing on the quality materials used in the various areas: from the absolute black granite and glass in the bathrooms to the vie bois, skillfully worked by specialized craftsmen to create all the made-to-measure furnishings, the doors and the bardage, which completely covers the living area of the main flat; the natural stone of the floors in the entrance hall and the kitchen blends perfectly with the oak parquet flooring used in the other rooms. The main flat consists of an entrance hall with guest bathroom, a cozy living room with fireplace, a kitchen and three double bedrooms, each with its own bathroom, in order to guarantee maximum privacy to each guest. The studio, on the other hand, consisting of entrance hall-kitchen, double bedroom, bathroom and walk-in wardrobe, is a more intimate and dynamic environment, in which every space is designed in detail to guarantee maximum comfort.

Architect and Interior Designer:
Camilla Giuliani

Even if it is not a large extent project, it was very stimulating to develop this rich and diverse design in materials, finishes and details. The balanced mix of traditional workmanship and finishes as well as modern shapes and finishing makes this project a success in everyone’s eyes.

Project challenge

Vieux bois

Our challenge in this project was to understand and interpret the workmanship of vieux bois, a specialty of mountain craftsmen in the Alps. Our team of architects and technicians pursued this challenge and experimented with the material, achieving a result that conforms to the tradition of chalets and satisfying the client’s request.

Oyala Palace Hotel is a 5-star tourist and residential building located in Equatorial Guinea, Central Africa, in the middle of a charming natural circuit, surrounded by the Wele River. Equipped with an important conference center and a hospital, this real brand-new city is a reflection of the desire for internationalization not only of the country as well as the entire African continent, whose political project involves moving the capital from Malabo to Oyala. Our task has been to understand and interpret the Government’s input in the creation of an extraordinary new architectural presence on the African scene.

Production and quality control

According to our Partner in this challenge we agreed to set up a strict monitoring procedure on each supplier before approving and sending the material to the building site. Our technicians checked every detail of each piece of furniture to avoid further problems once all materials would be on site.

CONCEPT

The complex develops on a surface of 189 hectares and is composed of several structures: a five stars hotel, 50 luxury independent villas, a conference centre, a Club House. Everything develops in the middle of an 18 holes golf course. The Hotel, five star category, presents a plan with four wings, with a central part and develops on 10 levels. In the central part on the basement there is a discotheque accessible from the lobby through lift and a staircase; on the ground floor a lobby reception of 2700 square metres. On the four wings from the 2nd to the 5th floor, there are different typologies of bedrooms: 399 standard rooms, 46 junior suites, 4 senior suites and a royal suite. On one side of the ground floor is the wellness centre on a surface of 1650 m2; on the opposite side is the shopping area; on the sixth floor you can find an Italian restaurant with its kitchen and terrace. On another wing of the Hotel there is a three meal restaurant, on the first floor we find a lounge bar and a steakhouse restaurant. The Conference centre, directly connected to the Hotel through wing on the ground floor, is composed of several multifunction rooms, distributed on two levels. The principal structure is a semicircular dome which raises on two levels and contains the conference room with 1205 seats, while the basement for meeting rooms. In the side part (the rectangular one), there is a ballroom which may contain 840 seats on the ground floor and on the basement kitchen and facilities. The independent 50 villas are arranged on the whole area of the residential complex, close to the river landscape and surrounded by the golf course. Each villa has two floors and an outbuilding. The Club House is next to the golf course and it consists of a restaurant, a reception lobby, a caddy master room, a shop, changing rooms and on the first floor, there is a vip area with a terrace.

Design Manager: Irene Izzo

Its realization has been very hard but equally stimulating both from the stylistic and logistical point of view, being a project of enormous proportions. Its complexity has required a detailed study of every architectural element to harmoniously insert the structure in the surrounding natural landscape.

Project challenge

A city in the middle of the African forest

One of the major challenges of this project was the logistics. All merchandise and materials were sent in containers by maritime transport, so at each time we needed to pay attention to the planning and to organise at best all our network of suppliers. As previously described the building site was in the middle of the jungle we could not afford lack of material.
